Maggie Vessey is an American athlete who competes in middle distance track events. She represented the United States at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics and 2011 World Championships in Athletics in the 800 m.
At the 2008 US Olympic Trials, Maggie Vessey finished 5th in the 800 m. In June 2009, she was a surprise winner at the Prefontaine Classic, while the competition included Olympic gold medalist Pamela Jelimo. She continued her impressive results in 2009 and won the race at the Herculis meet in Monaco, being tied for the seventh-fastest by an American runner. This result earned Maggie Vessey a place on the US 2009 World Championship team—she finished 4th at the 2009 US Championships, and needed to break 2:00 to earn an “A” standard.
At the 2009 World Championships, Vessey finished seventh in the 800 m semifinal with a time of 2:03.55.[5] At the 2009 IAAF World Athletics Final in Greece, Vessey took 2nd and the Silver in a time of 2:00.31.
Maggie Vessey won the gold medal at World Relay Championship in 2015 Nassau in discipline 4×800 m relay, as well as a silver medal in World Athletics Final in 2009 Thessaloniki on 800 m.
