Emily Sisson is a professional runner for New Balance in Phoenix, Arizona. She was 9th at the 2017 London IAAF World Outdoor Track and Field Championships for 10,000 meters, won the USATF road 10k Championships in 2016 and 5k in 2018. In the 2019 London Marathon, her first try at the distance, she placed 6th in a time of 2:23:08.
Emily Sisson was born on October 12, 1991, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. She is a four-time high school state champion in cross country while competing at the following Missouri State High School Activities Association and Nebraska School Activities Association schools. Emily Sisson was representing the United States at the Pan American Junior Championships at 2007 Sao Paulo, finishing third on 5,000 m.
At the 2013 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, Emily Sisson placed 7th for the Providence College in 20:17.5. She set an NCAA Division 1 indoor track and field 5,000 m record, won three NCAA titles, and earned All-American and All-Big East honors eleven times. While competing for the Wisconsin Badgers during her freshman year, Emily Sisson also earned All-Big Ten honors in cross country, and Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors in both the cross country and outdoor track seasons.
The top achievements of Emily Sisson at the World Finals on 10,000 m were 9th place in 2017 and 10th place in 2019. Her personal best on 5,000 m indoor was 15:02.10 (Boston 2017), while on 10,000 m indoor was 30:49.57 (Palo Alto 2019).
